Cantabrian Anchovies with MSC ecolabel now available
Arroyabe has been certified to the MSC standard of sustainable fishing for its range of anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea. This complements the MSC chain of custody certificate that the brand already got for White Tuna in 2012.
In this way, the company offers the possibility that its range of anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea has the blue MSC ecolabel, which certifies that this product comes from certified sustainable fisheries.
Currently, the Cantabrian fishing fleet complies with the MSC fisheries standard, both for white tuna and anchovy. Our preserves are only elaborated with anchovies from this fishery, so upon passing the audit for the chain of custody, we might offer MSC labelled Cantabrian Anchovy.
The MSC Chain of Custody Standard is a traceability and segregation standard that is applicable to the full supply chain from a certified fishery to final sale. Every company in the supply chain distributing an MSC certified product must have a valid MSC Chain of Custody certificate.
